Twin Bedroom Set WANTED!

Sometime before Nameless Boy is born, we need to find a twin bedroom set for Lexi. Right now she's in a toddler bed, which is fine, except it uses the crib mattress that needs to be back into the crib when her brother arrives. We could just buy another crib mattress, which is cheap, but since she has to move up eventually, and she loves real matresses when she guests on one, we thought we'd just step her up to a real Big Girl Bed. And since her current dresser matches the crib, it'd be nice to find a whole bedroom set (or at least a bed, mattress, and dresser) for her. We're looking for a nicely used set, or a new set if it's on super sale or something. I've been trying to keep a good eye on ksl.com, and I've checked in on Craigslist occationally. But if anyone hears of or sees a good buy, please let us know! I'm hoping for white, but I'm not that picky. Mostly we're looking for that really great steal, where you get something in good condition for a great price. I'm thinking we'll have more luck when it warms up and garage sale season starts, but just in case I've started looking now. So keep your eyes and ears open. Thanks everyone!

Trains, Trucks, Bears, and Balls

Why is it so difficult to find baby boy items that are cute without being obnoxious? It seems almost every clothing item and nursery decor set for boys is embellished with ugly "cutesy" bears, balls, trains, trucks, dogs, dinosaurs (the WORST), boats, etc. I don't remember having such a hard time finding cartoon-free items for Lexi. Luckily Nameless Boy will be born in the summer, so it shouldn't be hard to dress him in nice solid colored onsies for a while. But finding good bedding has been an undertaking. I've started shopping around, because I'd really like to get a good deal. Unfortunately, it's hard to find a cool geometric style bedding set that's not designer priced. I guess I just have expensive taste, huh? I did find this set from Walmart that's not too expensive:

And a few on ebay.

The whole process would probably be a lot easier if I lowered my standards, but quite frankly, I don't want to. So it looks like I'm going to have to get really good at research shopping.

IT'S A BOY!

That's right, it's a boy! We've changed the blog colors in honor of the announcement. Wayne is super psyched to get his little boy, and Liz is super psyched to get to go shopping for non-pink baby items. But now we've got to name the little guy! Liz is pushing to use silly nicknames until a real name is decided, that way no one gets attached to a name that's not final. Suggestions are "Gomer", "Bubba", or "Billy Bob". Here's the list of our real contenders:
VOTE on my Name List
Liz's frontrunner is Tristan. Wayne's frontrunner is James. We're still VERY open to suggestions and would love your opinions/comments on those in the running. If you want to suggest a name, either tell us in person or let us know in the comments. If we like it for consideration we'll add it to the list. Thanks guys!

The guessing game is almost over!

This second pregnancy has been less than fun, but one thing I enjoy is wondering whether we're going to have a boy or a girl. It's like trying to figure out what you're getting for Christmas, but with MUCH larger consequences. Wayne definately wants a boy, and Korbie has voiced her preference towards that as well. I LOVE all the cute pink clothes we have leftover from Lexi, and would love to have someone to put them on again. Plus, my mom has reminded me that, well, we just don't do boys. It's an all girl's club as far as we're concerned, because boys are just no fun to take shopping. However, the more friends I talk to with little boys the more I hear that they are less drama. So I guess it's good either way, right? The time for guessing is nearly over, because we are getting the ultrasound on January 25th at 2pm. I'll be 21 weeks, so the baby should be nice and big, hopefully eliminating any uncertainty about the gender. So if you want to weigh in your prediction, vote in our poll now, before it's too late and you can no longer say "I told you so!".

Be sure to look back here to find out the results, if we haven't told you in person. Also, once we know what we're having, the naming game starts. This time around we're undecided so far and I want to take in a lot of suggestions and opinions before making any permanent decisions, just for a change of pace. We may even wait until we see the little guy or girl to make it final, we'll see. We have a list of names we're thinking about so far on babynames.com, and once we know the gender, I'll post a link to the list. There you can vote on the name(s) you like or dislike, and we'd love to hear your comments. Hey, we know you'd just say them behind our backs later, so let's hear them first!

An Awesome Snowy Day

This weekend has been awesome. Sitting around the house watching the snow come down. It was so peaceful and calming. I think we ended up with over 9 inches!

Alexis got to go and play in the snow for the very first time. SHE LOVED IT! The problem was that she refused to keep her hood on. She would take it off which led to very wet hair. Oh yeah, not to mention the fit when calling it quits!

Big News!

We may be needing to update the name of this blog in a few months... the Tomlinson Trio is becoming the Tomlinson Quartet! That's right, we're expecting a baby due June 6th, 2008. Here's how everyone is feeling:

Wayne: Wayne is super excited and can't wait for a new baby. He's been talking about adding to the family for a loooooooooong time, and is finally getting his wish. As much as he loves his little girl, he's hoping for a little Wayne Jr. to play football with.

Liz: Right this second Liz is feeling sick. In fact, Liz has been feeling sick for the past few weeks. Whoever said that the second pregnancy is easier was a big fat liar. This one is way harder. Liz is hoping for another little girl to do hair and wear all those cute pink outfits in storage. However, she had a dream that she gave birth to a little boy with lots of spikey sandy-blonde hair. So, we'll see.

Lexi: Lexi has no clue what's going on. All she knows is that mommy throws up in the sink a lot and is sometimes too tired to play as much as she'd like. When Mommy tries to sign/tell her that there's a baby in her tummy, Lexi gives her a look of confusion and sympathy, like Mommy's gone nuts because babies don't live in tummies. Babies are those funny little guys who squirm around and like to share their toys.

Above is a picture of Baby #2 at 8 weeks (now 11 weeks).
