Yesterday was Liz's birthday. She turned 25! I wanted everyone to know that Liz is the BEST Wife, Mom & Friend on the entire planet. Everyone is blessed to know her and I wish the best things for her! She has made me a better man and she keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Baby Bedding: Check!
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5854563
It's even cooler in person, the colors are brighter and more hip. I'm planning on putting in dark brown curtains to match the bedding, and maybe painting the room (completely or maybe just one wall) to match the light brown in the design. So, one nursery prep item down, dozens more to go...

Wayne's 15 seconds of FAME!
That's right, Wayne has made it to the big time. He's on TV! A San Francisco news station did an "expose" on Firstline, and poor Wayne was caught on camera. The story is completely one-sided and and full of flaws (we're peeved about the whole bankruptcy thing, but we still feel this story is completely unfair), but it's fun to see our boy on the small screen. Ironically, Wayne was filmed walking through the halls at Firstline on the day he was cleaning out his desk, but he looks completely guilty! I know who we should blame this Firstline scam on, the guy who looks like a deer in the headlights, then ducks quickly into the nearest office! Get him!

Sam's Gettin' Hitched!
My big sister Samantha is getting married this summer, and we couldn't be more excited. And not just because the wedding is in Hawaii. We love Rob, and Wayne is stoked to have a son-in-law buddy. He's no longer outnumbered. Well, not by as much, at least. Here's their wedding website, so everyone can see how cute they are, and, if you're interested, how their plans are going:

Congratulations guys!

Twin Bedroom Set WANTED!
Sometime before Nameless Boy is born, we need to find a twin bedroom set for Lexi. Right now she's in a toddler bed, which is fine, except it uses the crib mattress that needs to be back into the crib when her brother arrives. We could just buy another crib mattress, which is cheap, but since she has to move up eventually, and she loves real matresses when she guests on one, we thought we'd just step her up to a real Big Girl Bed. And since her current dresser matches the crib, it'd be nice to find a whole bedroom set (or at least a bed, mattress, and dresser) for her. We're looking for a nicely used set, or a new set if it's on super sale or something. I've been trying to keep a good eye on ksl.com, and I've checked in on Craigslist occationally. But if anyone hears of or sees a good buy, please let us know! I'm hoping for white, but I'm not that picky. Mostly we're looking for that really great steal, where you get something in good condition for a great price. I'm thinking we'll have more luck when it warms up and garage sale season starts, but just in case I've started looking now. So keep your eyes and ears open. Thanks everyone!

Trains, Trucks, Bears, and Balls
Why is it so difficult to find baby boy items that are cute without being obnoxious? It seems almost every clothing item and nursery decor set for boys is embellished with ugly "cutesy" bears, balls, trains, trucks, dogs, dinosaurs (the WORST), boats, etc. I don't remember having such a hard time finding cartoon-free items for Lexi. Luckily Nameless Boy will be born in the summer, so it shouldn't be hard to dress him in nice solid colored onsies for a while. But finding good bedding has been an undertaking. I've started shopping around, because I'd really like to get a good deal. Unfortunately, it's hard to find a cool geometric style bedding set that's not designer priced. I guess I just have expensive taste, huh? I did find this set from Walmart that's not too expensive:

And a few on ebay.
The whole process would probably be a lot easier if I lowered my standards, but quite frankly, I don't want to. So it looks like I'm going to have to get really good at research shopping.
